Wheaten Huskies are a mixed dog breed which is a crossbreed of Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers and Siberian Huskies. They are medium-sized dog breeds and are very affectionate towards people and other dog breeds.

Wheaten Huskies are known for their protective behavior, agility, and intelligence. They can be good watchdogs and can take care of your small children in your absence.

They are highly active and athletic in their build and hence requires a lot of exercises and outing to cool off their energy levels. Therefore, proper nutritional food and protein-diet are critical to a healthy Wheaten Husky sustainable growth.

Wheaten Terrier Husky Mix Breed Appearance

Wheaten Siberian Huskies acquire their physical appearance and body patterns from their parents. As a result, some look more like their male parent, while some inherit more traits from their female parent.

Coat: Siberian Huskies have a double coat with medium-sized length making it easier to groom. In contrast, Wheaten Terriers have a silky and wavy coats requiring more grooming comparatively.

Color: Siberian Huskies come in many colors, such as black, white, gray, red, tan, etc. At the same time, Wheaten Terriers are mostly in wheaten colors. Hence, the crossbreed will be a mix of Wheaten and other colors of Huskies. Also, Wheaten Huskies can be of blue-eyed or brown-eyed depending on its parents.

Size: For Wheaten Huskies, one can expect the male dog breed size to be in the range of 18 inches to 23 inches. And for females, the size range can be between 17 to 22 inches. This depends totally on their parents’ body sizes and growth patterns.

    Wheaten Terrier Husky Mix Temperament

If we talk about the temperament level of Wheaten Huskies, again, they show the traits they acquire from their parents.

Both the parent dogs are social, playful, and highly adaptable to the conditions. They love playing with children and go well with seniors and other dogs too. While Siberian Huskies have a higher barking level, Wheaten terriers have a very low barking behavior.

A mixed dog breed acquires its training traits from both of its parents. Hence, early dog training is beneficial as it makes the dog smarter, more agile, and more intelligent for the future.

Wheaten Terriers are social, robust, and adaptable, making them a good trainable dog breed. Whereas Huskies also shows social and extrovert behavior and craves the need of other people or dogs.

Training a crossbreed that loves outings and social roaming is not that hard. All you have to do is take your new dog to dog parks and public spots to let them socialize on its own with random people and pets.

    Wheaten Terrier Husky Mix Grooming

Grooming is considered one of the most vital aspects of owning a dog. It’s as much as important as feeding or training a dog. The grooming of Wheaten Huskies depends upon their size, shedding levels, fur, and coat.

Wheaten Terriers have a soft and silky coat, making brushing very important to save them from skin diseases and parasite attacks. On the other hand, Siberian Huskies are considered natural breeds because they love to clean themselves on their own. Moreover, their shedding levels are pretty low compared to the Wheaten Terriers.

Hence, the grooming requirements of Husky Wheaten Terriers are on the lower side and can be a good bet for your pockets.
